AIR TRANSPORT STATISTICS
CHIANG MAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Air Transport Statistics 2007 Chiang Mai International Airport
CHIANG MAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Chiang? Mai? province? is? registered? as? one? of? the? most? popular? tourist destinations in Thailand, having a lot of attractions like a variety of unique northern cultures and plenty of natural resources, including dominantly well-known local wooden sculptures, goods and products. It was also a significant center of the trade in the northern region of the country and a transit point of the trade and tourism from Thailand to neighboring countries such as Myanmar, Laos and Southern China, by air. These advantages of the province have resulted in a huge number of Thai and foreign tourists traveling through Chiang Mai International Airport.
In 2007 Chiang Mai International Airport handled the growing number of
aircraft and passengers by 8.08? percent and? 1.70 percent of the total aircraft and passenger? movements? as? against? those? of? the? year? 2006.? Those? rising? number? of passengers made Chiang Mai International Airport come fourth to Suvarnabhmi, Phuket and Don Mueang International Airports, respectively. However, the number of inbound and outbound freight was decreased by 12.38 percent of the total freight movements. The details of those movements are given as follows.
